The 2023 RNZAF Golfing Society Tournament is confirmed, Sun 05 Nov – Thur 2023 incl.
As in previous years, Base Ohakea will host with all rounds being played at the ‘Home of RNZAF Golf’, Rangitikei Golf Club.
This message serves to inform you of the dates, allowing you to put in for leave from both home and work command.
Entry forms are being finalised and we will endeavour to have these out to you all by mid-July.
Please note: If you join through a Base Club, you will represent that Area (AK, OH, WN, WB). All others will be Remote.
With the increased attendance last year, post COVID-19 restrictions, we are anticipating approximately 70 players from across all regions for the week. In preparation, accommodation has been secured for 80 rooms on base. Ex-serving members will be required to pay for accommodation however this is likely to be similar to last year, in the vicinity of $25.00 a night. Also, there is now an EFTPOS machine in the OH Combined Mess so paying/swiping for meals should not be an issue and, you will only be charged for the meals you take.
The format for Society 2023 is yet to be finalised however the obligatory AGM will be held on the Mon evening. On Tuesday we will be streaming the Melbourne Cup at the Golf Club and the Sponsors (Friends of Society) day will still be held on the Thursday, with prize giving in the WOs & SNCOs Mess that evening. If you have any agenda items for the AGM please send them through to me asap but by NLT COB 13 Oct 23.
Following on the fashion trends from previous years, there will be a ‘Fashion in the Field’ Theme – Having a good yarn!! Bust out your best knitwear, crochet or woven gears and impress the mystery judge(s).
